| Hosting.GB.net is NOT a giant faceless company – we are a leading supplier of business hosting services with a human face. We host approximately 1000 URL’s with a target this year to increase this by a further 1000. This is why we have separated the hosting away from WebMap Ltd primarily a design company. Our clients websites are hosted on proven hardware and infrastructure.
Bandwidth Our bandwidth is provided by three of the largest upstream providers; WorldCom MCI, NTL & BT. Both BT & WorldCom MCI deliver their circuits over BT's infrastructure while NTL own and operate their own fibre & cable specifically chosen for greater redundancy. We implement a strict bandwidth policy ensuring we have at least 40% available at peak times to cope with any influx of traffic.
Infrastructure We operate a fully switched Cisco routed network. Core routing is provided by our Cisco 7206 routers and we use Cisco 3640 border routers for each of our connections.
Our servers and those of our customers are hosted in our fully air conditioned server environment maintained at 19°C and 21°C with the server racks themselves.
Power
All power is first fed through our UPS system. Power is converted from industrial three phase AC to DC, this process removes any power surges or spikes. Power is then fed through to the various battery cabinets to constantly charge the fallover batteries. Power is simultaneously drawn from these batteries and duly converted back to AC. This is then distributed via underfloor conduits to each server rack. Our generator fallover panel ensures your server is kept online during any otage.
